Welcome Jason Carpenter

We’re excited to add Jason Carpenter to our team. Jason came to us a while back with an interesting situation: He had been working as a mechanical engineer by day, but learning to program at night over the course of many months. He asked us to help him get better.

We threw tons of stuff at him, and a lot of other people’s legacy code. He has lived through a pair of Rails 3 upgrades and lived to tell the tale. He has tackled nasty code with no tests and made it worlds better. He’s taken our abuse with excitement and vigor.

Jason has long had an entrepreneurial spirit, starting 4 companies including Ascribe, a web start-up that fueled his passion for programming. Seeing him build Ascribe, I knew he’d be able to rise to any challenge we threw at him, and would teach us a lot along the way. I’m excited for the wealth of talent and varied experience Jason brings to our team, and I’m eager to see him help us hit new heights.
